The 2015 Annual General Meeting of the Kispiox Valley Music Festival Society will be at 3 pm, Sunday, November 8. The business of this meeting will be the paying of annual membership fees ($5 per year) and the election of the board and executive. In addition, we hope to fill as many coordinator positions as possible.
Bring snacks. Catch up with people you haven’t seen for a while. New members and all interested persons welcome.
Door prize! All KVMFS members present will be entered into a draw for a trip for two on Hawk Air. You must be present to win.
Location: the Meeting Centre at 3226 Bowser Street, New Hazelton.
Our post-festival wrap-up meeting will be at 2 pm on Saturday, August 29 at Mark and Beth Larsen’s residence at 1310 Richmond Frontage Rd., South Hazelton. The meeting will be followed by a potluck so bring along your favourite dish and musical instruments. Join us for a fun evening!
We have received a number of questions about the date of next year’s festival. Assuming that enough people come together to put on a festival in 2016, it will take place from July 22 to 24.
The reason for the question is that the August statutory holiday, BC Day, which takes place on the first Monday in August, will be on August 1 in 2016, the first day after the last full weekend in July. Normally, our festival is held on the last full weekend in July but, in order to avoid coinciding with the August long weekend, we have made a practice of having it on the weekend before when that happens.
Please note that schedules have been updated again.
An early edition of the KVMF 2015 schedule is now on the web site! This schedule is subject to change.
Copied from Kathy Stockner’s post in our KVMF Facebook group:
The pre-festival COOKING BEE will be on Sunday, July 19, starting around 9:30 am at the Festival Grounds. Anyone interested in getting some volunteer hours in early by slicing, dicing, chopping and chatting, bring your favourite knife, grab a friend, and join us. Many hands make light the work.
We’ll be having a work bee and meeting every Sunday until Festival time! Work bees start at 11 am, meetings are at 2 pm. Come out and participate in making this festival a great one, be informed about what’s happening, and earn volunteer hours toward a weekend pass.
We don’t normally have a work bee or meeting on the weekend of the Midsummer Music Festival but we’re behind schedule this year and several people have expressed an interest in working on the grounds.

Thanks to Hawkair for once again making a discount available to help reduce some of our costs. They gave us eight flights at half price (or four free flights, depending on how you do the math, as Todd says).
Thanks also to Central Mountain Air for a free flight.
The festival meeting this Sunday will be combined with a work be and it will take place at the festival grounds. Work bee at 11 am, festival meeting about 2 pm. Come on out and help us get ready for KVMF 2015!
