January 17th General Meeting Postponed

Dear Members past, present and future,
Please note that the general meeting that was previously scheduled for January 17th has been postponed. Your Board of Directors is working on a meeting schedule for 2016 and more ways to keep you informed. The next general meeting will be Sunday, February 7 and we’ve got a surprise planned!  Enjoy the holidays and best wishes to everyone!

2015 AGM – with big door prize!

The 2015 Annual General Meeting of the Kispiox Valley Music Festival Society will be at 3 pm, Sunday, November 8. The business of this meeting will be the paying of annual membership fees ($5 per year) and the election of the board and executive. In addition, we hope to fill as many coordinator positions as possible.

Bring snacks. Catch up with people you haven’t seen for a while. New members and all interested persons welcome.

Door prize! All KVMFS members present will be entered into a draw for a trip for two on Hawk Air. You must be present to win.

Location: the Meeting Centre at 3226 Bowser Street, New Hazelton.

The date for KVMF 2016

We have received a number of questions about the date of next year’s festival. Assuming that enough people come together to put on a festival in 2016, it will take place from July 22 to 24.

The reason for the question is that the August statutory holiday, BC Day, which takes place on the first Monday in August, will be on August 1 in 2016, the first day after the last full weekend in July. Normally, our festival is held on the last full weekend in July but, in order to avoid coinciding with the August long weekend, we have made a practice of having it on the weekend before when that happens.

Work Bees & Meetings

We’ll be having a work bee and meeting every Sunday until Festival time! Work bees start at 11 am, meetings are at 2 pm. Come out and participate in making this festival a great one, be informed about what’s happening, and earn volunteer hours toward a weekend pass.

We don’t normally have a work bee or meeting on the weekend of the Midsummer Music Festival but we’re behind schedule this year and several people have expressed an interest in working on the grounds.
